Cosmopolitan

Throughout my tenure at Cosmopolitan, I grew the brand’s social footprint by millions of followers, drove record-breaking traffic to the website, and routinely dreamt up creative, one-of-a-kind ideas to engage the brand’s loyal fans online and IRL.

Launching Cosmo on Instagram Stories

Cosmo was selected as an early launch partner for Instagram’s Stories feature. To celebrate the occasion, I led the development and execution of the magazine’s first-ever Instagram Story: “Cosmo Around the World,” 130 slides (!) showcasing 10 countries around the globe. Fun fact: This story was covered by industry publications as an innovative way to use the new Instagram feature. 🥲

INDUSTRY LEADING SOCIAL ENGAGMENT

Whether it was jumping on a viral trend, tapping into ‘90s nostalgia, or creating viral memes of our own, the social team at Cosmo consistently generated some of the highest brand social engagement in the industry. Our creative efforts paid off in a big way (huge!) in 2017 when we added over 1M followers to Cosmo’s Instagram in one year.

Live Events Coverage

I covered a range of live events important to Cosmo’s community of young women across the mag’s social channels, generating millions of engagements and impressions. A few memorable moments: going live from the NYC Pride Parade, capturing content at the Women’s March, covering every single award show in the calendar year, highlighting the best moments from the Olympic Games, and covering Election Day.

~Cosmunity~ Engagement

From hosting reader nights across the country to launching a custom Cosmopolitan emoji keyboard downloaded by hundreds of thousands of users, I launched a variety of community-driven initiatives to engage the brand’s most devoted fans.

Sponsored Content Series: ‘Cosmo Shelfie’

I launched the #CosmoShelfie franchise to showcase some of the editorial team’s favorite beauty products, which were displayed on an Instagram-worthy shelf in the Cosmopolitan.com office. Cosmo’s advertising partners loved #CosmoShelfie so much that it became a massively popular sponsored content series, leading to branded content deals with clients like Macy’s and Foster Grant.

Writing Clips

When the rare spare moment presented itself, I wrote articles for Cosmopolitan.com. I filed a career profile on the (former) VP of Engineering at Birchbox, a feature story on social media’s favorite artist Amanda Oleander, and a glowing review of a Stranger Things font generator. You can see the rest of my Cosmo clips here.
